Important Consultation: Emergency Care & Treatment Plan (ECTP)

The Resus Council (UK) and Royal Medical & Nursing colleges have collaborated to produce a proposal for a new unified document to be completed for all people, of any age, who might require, or might be thought to require, a modified end of life plan.

The document is intended to carry enough information to help direct the care in an acute collapse and also direct the clinical teams towards more definitive information in less acute situations. It is intended to complement, not replace, existing paperwork such as the CYPACP or Deciding Right.

The draft proposals have now been opened for public consultation and are available here.
